Georgia LB Leonard Warner Picks The ‘Noles

FSU has landed four star inside linebacker Leonard Warner picked the ‘Noles over stiff competition from Stanford. Warner is ranked as the 8th best inside linebacker in the country, and the 177th best prospect overall per the 247 Composite.

On film Warner is a an above average inside linebacker who displays elite play recognition and capable sideline to sideline athleticism. As most high school linebackers do, he needs to get a bit better at shedding blocks and not allowing blockers into his body. He certainly has the frame to get quite good at this, standing at 6-4 225. He exhibits ability in coverage, recording multiple interceptions dropping into underneath coverage on crossing and curl routes. However, pass coverage will probably be the weakest facet of his game at the collegiate level. Warner is a true quarterback of the defense and possesses the football IQ to make all the calls that FSU’s defense requires as he garnered admission consideration at Stanford.

Warner is a very good get for FSU and will provide immediate serviceable depth at the linebacker position, which is one of the most critical positions in FSU’s defense.
