Week 6 Bold Prediction: Mark Walton will not rush for 50 yards

Miami running back Mark Walton has rushed for 50+ yards in 11 of his last 16 games. Florida State has given up 126 rush yards per game this season.

But this game is different. Florida State isn’t playing NC State or Wake Forest. The ‘Noles are facing their biggest rival: Miami. Last year when these teams played, Mark Walton rushed for just 39 yards on 14 carries, good for an underwhelming 2.8 yards per carry.

Yes, I understand that was last year. But even last week, Wake Forest running backs combined for a pathetic 30 yards on 15 carries.  The strength of Florida State’s defense under Charles Kelly has always been against the run, and that won’t change this week. The Seminoles’ defense will hold Mark Walton to less than 50 yards rushing.
