Game Preview: Florida State vs Syracuse

What else is there left to say? The ‘Noles enter November 2-5 and look doubtful to make a bowl game. Meanwhile, Syracuse has seen a resurgence of the program under head coach Dino Babers, with an electric offense and underrated quarterback in Eric Dungey. They are coming off a bye week, and nearly upset Miami two weeks ago. Of course, Cuse has a marquee upset win over Clemson this year, and while the ‘Noles best win is at Duke. Syracuse’s fast paced offense will give the ‘Noles defense fits. Dungey is great at making something out of nothing, which doesn’t bode well for a defense who has a track record of giving QBs a field day. In order for the ‘Noles to win this one, Cam Akers has to have a few big runs. With no Jacques Patrick, and the inconsistencies because of limitations on James Blackman, Akers has to make some plays. He will need a Dalvin Cook-esque performance to win this one. But the offense was horrendous last week against Boston College, and I don’t see how it can drastically improve heading into this one. I’ll take Syracuse 34-20, and it won’t be as close as the final score shows. Florida State is fighintg for bowl eligibility in 2017. The surreal nightmare season continues on Saturday.
