FSU earns Independence Bowl bid vs. Southern Miss

Florida State clinched their path to bowl eligibility with a 42-10 victory over ULM in the home finale. The Seminoles 36th straight bowl appearance looked to be in jeopardy a couple weeks ago when the team dropped to 2-5. However, FSU has won four of their final five games and looks to be playing their best football as we enter bowl season.

The `Noles have accepted an invitation to the Independence Bowl where they will play Southern Mississippi. The bowl will be held on Wednesday, December 27th at 1:30 p.m. in Shreveport, LA.

The Golden Eagles are 8-4 and hail from the C-USA. They’re led by junior quarterback Kwadra Griggs, who has recorded 1793 passing yards with 15 touchdowns and 2 interceptions this season. Senior running back Ito Smith is Southern Mississippi’s top rusher. He has 232 carries for 1321 yards (5.7) YPC with 13 touchdowns on the ground.

2-0dell coming up?
