Energy during opener is something FSU has missed

Florida State was dead in the water a year ago after Deondre Francois went down with an injury and Jimbo Fisher checked out. The offense struggled to find consistency behind a true freshman quarterback and the atmosphere dampened as the season worsened throughout 2017.

Though the result wasn’t what most people expected on Labor, the energy was back in full swing for the start of the Willie Taggart era.

The fans and players were electric during the pregame and the opening kick was as hype as Doak Campbell Stadium has been in a while. Yeah, what happened on the field wasn’t fun. But that stadium was alive throughout the game and fought as hard as it could to turn momentum around.

Taggart was growing up and watching FSU Football during the time its history was created. He watched Bobby Bowden lead this program to greatness and he has a lot of the same qualities as the legendary coach. Give him his time, let him figure this out, and Taggart will do something.

And if you’re blaming dancing for a loss. Don’t hop back on the Taggart train once he turns it around.
