FSU gets an early start on the 2020 class

There aren’t many teams in the country who are as hot on the recruiting trail as Florida State. Willie Taggart and his staff had a monumental close, landing five prospects on national signing day. Despite less than two months on the job, the new head coach finished with the No.11 recruiting class in the country.

Now, the Seminoles are already getting started on the future. FSU hosted their first junior day of 2018 over the weekend in Tallahassee. Some of the top prospects in the nation from 2019 and 2020 got a chance to become more familiar with the campus and coaching staff.

One recruit, 2020 cornerback Jadarius McKnight, decided to commit on the spot. He had come into his unofficial visit without an offer, but as soon as he received one, it was over for him. McKnight noted that this was the offer he had been wanting and that the `Noles were his dream school.

The 2020 cornerback’s stock is on the rise. He has also been offered by Notre Dame, Miami, Oregon, and Auburn, among others. McKnight is a physical defensive back who isn’t afraid to lay the wood.

He projects to be a versatile contributor in run support and coverage at the collegiate level. McKnight also has great ball skills. He does a good job of reading the quarterback’s eyes and making the play, whether it be a tackle, deflection, or interception. The Fort Myers product isn’t ranked yet but he looks to be the caliber of a four-star prospect.

McKnight is the first commitment for Taggart and FSU in the class of 2020. Check out his highlight tape below, as well as the other 2020 prospects that the Seminoles have offered.
