Jimbo Fisher agrees to deal in principle with Texas A&M

Well, the rumors have finally come to fruition. Florida State head coach Jimbo Fisher has agreed to a contract with Texas A&M according to the Tallahassee Democrat. The eighth-year coach will replace Kevin Sumlin, who was fired by the Aggies on Sunday after his sixth year with the school. Fisher, who was named head coach of FSU in 2010, finishes his career in Tallahassee with an 82-23 record.

Jimbo has lashed out on the media in recent weeks and a change might be better for the future of his coaching career. He’s certainly had his fair share of challenges at FSU and it won’t get any easier in College Station.

As for Florida State, the Seminoles will now be tasked to do something they’ve had to do only twice in 41 years, find a new head coach. They aren’t wasting any more time. Reportedly, the Noles are already vetting Oregon’s Willie Taggart and Virgina Tech’s Justin Fuente.
