Landon Dickerson no longer in the Transfer Portal

Earlier this week, one of Florida State’s most experienced offensive linemen returning to the team, Landon Dickerson, reportedly entered the Transfer Portal. Now, a source tells NoleGameday that Dickerson has removed himself from the portal just a couple days after originally putting his name into it.

Interestingly enough, the news of the North Carolina native likely returning to the Seminoles comes on the same day that offensive line coach Greg Frey was fired. The source did mention that there was some friction between the two so it makes you wonder if that was one of the final straws in Willie Taggart’s decision to part ways with Frey.

If Dickerson can stay healthy, which is something he hasn’t done often in Tallahassee, he projects to play a big role on FSU’s offensive line in 2019. He can play either inside or out at tackle and skill wise is probably the ‘Noles best player along the OL.

The former four-star recruit has two seasons of eligibility remaining to hopefully turn his career around from oft-injured offensive lineman to someone who can make a huge impact on Florida State’s rebuilding offensive front. His next coach will also be the third offensive line coach he’s learned under since he signed with the Seminoles in the 2016 class.
