Sam Howell commits to Florida State

Willie Taggart finally has his quarterback. Four-star pro-style signal-caller Sam Howell has announced his commitment to Florida State. The North Carolina native chose the Seminoles over Clemson, North Carolina, and Tennessee, among others. He becomes the first quarterback that Taggart has landed since his move to FSU.

Nabbing Howell’s commitment was vital after the `Noles failed to land a QB during the 2018 recruiting cycle. He is a perfect fit within the gulf coast offense and he should be quite dynamic on the field. Howell passed for 3372 yards with 36 touchdowns to 11 interceptions. He also racked up 1594 yards on the ground and 24 rushing touchdowns. Make no mistake about it. This is an elite grab for Taggart and Walt Bell. They were two of the biggest factors in the talented quarterback making his decision to take his future to Tallahassee.

Howell becomes the sixth commitment for FSU in the 2019 class and the first commitment on the offensive side of the ball. He’s ranked as the No. 152 overall prospect and No. 4 pro-style prospect in the 247 Sports Composite Rankings.

Who’s next? Guess we’ll just have to find out at the spring game.
