Sharp Seven: Week 12 Gambling Picks

Last Week: 6-1

Season Total: 42-34-1 (55%)

Last week was another big weekend for our picks going 6-1 against the spread. That puts us at 11-3 our past two weekends so hopefully, you took full advantage and made some extra money for the holidays.

This week is often the toughest week of the college football season when it comes to picking winners against the number. The weather really starts coming into play as well as the unknown of who will play and who will rest this weekend before rivalry week. That said, let’s ride the momentum from the past two weekends and get going into week 12.

Middle Tennessee State at #17 Kentucky (-14)

Kentucky looked lifeless in their embarrassing loss at Tennessee but bounces back with a win this weekend. The backdoor cover here scares me a bit but I definitely see Kentucky up by at least two touchdowns in the second half. Here’s to banking on them hanging on late.

Michigan State at Nebraska (+2)

From week one to now, Nebraska may be the most improved team in the country. After a 0-6 start, Scott Frost has turned things around winning two of their last three games. They will pick up their fourth win of the season this weekend beating Michigan State in Lincoln.

N.C. State (-15) at Louisville

Neither team is playing good football as of late but Louisville is a special kind of bad. The Wolf Pack will name their score this weekend and cover easily.

#12 Syracuse vs. #3 Notre Dame (-9) (Yankee Stadium)

Ian Book returns to the lineup this week for the Irish after sitting out due to injury last weekend against Florida State. With him on the field, Notre Dame should be able to move the ball with consistency against the Orange. Syracuse is in the middle of a dream season but they get a wake-up call in Yankee Stadium Saturday. The Irish are taking this one by double-digits.

Cincinnati (+7.5)  at #11 UCF

The college football spotlight will be on Orlando, Florida this weekend as the Knights host the Bearcats. Both offenses are good but Cincinnati’s defense is much better than Central Florida’s which will be the difference. I could see Cincinnati winning this one outright if they play a clean game. I don’t see UCF winning by more than a touchdown unless some funky things happen.

Arizona at #8 Washington State (-10)

We’ve picked Washing State to cover three times in the past month and they have done so every game. We’re going to make it four for four on the Cougars as they roll Arizona this weekend.

#20 Boston College (-1) at Florida State

This last month of football has been a disaster for Florida State and unfortunately, I don’t think this nightmare is over just yet. The Seminoles’ rush defense has been exposed the past two weeks which has to have BC head coach Steve Addazio grinning from ear to ear.

Look for the Eagles to line up with a plan to pound the rock for four quarters challenging Florida State’s front seven. If the Eagles get things going on the ground, it will be impossible for the Seminoles and their inconsistent offense to keep up.

History will be made Saturday as Florida State’s bowl streak, the longest in the nation, officially comes to an end.
