Streaking Seminoles climb in the polls

Following another perfect week, Florida State rises to #17 in the AP poll while coming in at #19 in the Coaches Poll. The five spot jump in each poll comes as no surprise following Florida State’s overtime win over then sixteenth ranked Louisville this past Saturday afternoon.

The win over the Cardinals was the fifth in a row for the good guys after it looked as though this team may not even make the NCAA Tournament.

Last month, the Seminoles went on the road and lost an inexplicable game to Boston College who is just 2-8 in league play. The loss was the fourth in five games as the Tribe opened conference play 1-4.

Fast-forward three weeks and Florida State now finds themselves at 18-5 (6-4) with just eight games left before the ACC Tournament next month.

While it may be just a bit early to say, it would seem as though FSU is playing for seeding at this point. As of Monday morning, Florida State sits at an average seed of 6.53 according to Bracket Matrix which averages out seeding from over 100 bracket projections.

This week sets up very favorably for the Seminoles to get to 20 wins by the weekend. Florida State will host Wake Forest Wednesday night before traveling to Georgia Tech on Saturday. The ‘Noles two opponents this week are a combined 20-26 on the season and just 5-16 in conference play.

As any game in league play, neither can be taken for granted but a focused Florida State team has a great chance to come out of the week 2-0 before the final stretch of the season.
