VIDEO: Telvin Smith gives emotional speech at Jags player retirement party

Former Florida State stars have been heading back to Tallahassee in droves under the new leadership of Willie Taggart. One of those former Seminoles, 2013 national champion and Jacksonville Jaguars linebacker, Telvin Smith, recently gave an extremely emotional speech at Paul Posluszny’s retirement party.

Posluszny played with Jacksonville for seven seasons. He recorded 1,381 tackles, 15 interceptions, and 16 sacks in 145 regular seasons games. Posluszny and Smith linked up in 2014 when the Valdosta product was selected by the Jaguars in the 2014 NFL Draft.

Smith introduced the veteran linebacker at his retirement ceremony and was brought to tears multiple times during his speech.

“I promise you, as soon as I met Poz, I knew I had a guy I could trust, and who I could depend on and I love him,” said Smith on his relationship with Posluszny. “I’ve never met a better man than Poz. I’ve never had a better teammate than you. I promise I won’t let you down. I love you. I appreciate you. And forever, you have a place as my brother.”
