Week Six Injury Report

Logan Stanford/Icon Sportswire

Florida State enters its crucial rivalry game against Miami with a point to prove. The Seminoles rallied in the second half to defeat Louisville a week ago and they’ll try to carry that momentum into Coral Gables.

Unfortunately for FSU, this team is banged up right now. Landon Dickerson and Derrick Kelly are questionable for Saturday, which would force a player like Abdul Bello or Jauan Williams back into the starting lineup.

The defense is also dealing with some injuries. Willie Taggart and his staff are hoping to be as healthy as possible against the best team the `Noles have faced on their schedule thus far.

T Landon Dickerson (Ankle) – Dickerson is officially doubtful for Saturday’s tilt against Miami. Taggart doesn’t want to rule him out quite yet, but it’s not looking good for FSU’s best offensive lineman.

G/T Derrick Kelly (Knee) – Though Dickerson might be unavabile Saturday, the Seminoles are expecting Derrick Kelly to return to the lineup after missing two weeks with a knee injury. His presence would be big for this team up front.

T Abdul Bello (Hand) – Bello has had a big cast on his hand since last week against Louisville. He’s still sporting it in practice and has worn a non-contact jersey this week. However, expect him to be ready to go for Miami.

T Jauan Williams (Undisclosed)  – Williams missed the game against Louisville with an undisclosed injury. He’s back at practice this week in a non-contact jersey. You have to wonder if Williams is starting to have shoulder problems again or if it’s a different ailment.

DT Cedric Wood (Hand) – Wood has missed basically the entire fall with a hand injury. He’s been spotted multiple times rehabbing with other injured players. We’ve seen him on the sidelines at games with a cast on.

DT Ja’len Parks (Ankle) – Parks, like Wood, has missed much of the season due to an injury. The former four-star prospect is dealing with a nagging ankle injury and his return is uncertain at this time.

DE Joshua Kaindoh (Shoulder/Undisclosed) – Kaindoh dealt with a shoulder issue throughout the offseason and summer. He also missed much of fall practice due to an undisclosed injury. Now, once again, the former five-star prospect is dealing with an injury. Taggart hasn’t disclosed the nature of the ailment but it’s safe to say not to expect too much from Kaindoh against Miami.

LB DeCalon Brooks (Undisclosed) – Brooks was wearing a non-contact jersey at practice this week. His injury shouldn’t keep him off the field against Miami after the redshirt freshman linebacker had his best career game so far against Louisville.

S Cyrus Fagan (Knee) – Fagan suffered an injury in practice prior to the game against Northern Illinois. He ended up playing against the Huskies and also saw time against Louisville. Despite wearing a non-contact jersey in practice this week, he should be ready to go against the Hurricanes.
