Week Ten Injury Report

All eyes are on the quarterback position for this week’s matchup against NC State. Deondre Francois was mauled by Clemson’s front seven and knocked out of that forgettable game last weekend in Doak Campbell. Since then, Coach Taggart has been noncommittal about who will be starting under center come Saturday afternoon in Raleigh. We do know that James Blackman has been taking up a lot of the first-team reps this week in practice as Francois has been limited. Whether or not that is indicative of a change this weekend has yet to be determined. As of right now, he’s still day-to-day.

It’s also unclear exactly who will be missing time this week due to “quitting” on the team and who will miss time because they’re legitimately banged up. Nyqwan Murray and Zaquandre White will definitely be suspended for the first half for throwing punches in last week’s contest. However, the way Coach Taggart spoke about his disappointment with the effort of some of his guys, this week’s starting lineup is probably going to be the most difficult one to predict. Everything is murky in these dark times.

Hold up! Woah! Check it out! I have some positive news for once! As the guy who does the injury report, I usually play the role of Doctor Gloom on here, but everyone’s favorite Lambo, Khalan Laborn, is showing incredible progress and resilience in his recovery from that horrible knee injury he suffered earlier in the season. He is still expected to miss the remainder of the season, BUT, take a look at this video of him doing agility ladder drills this week in practice.

If nothing else at least it gives us hope for the future.
