2022 RB Jaylon Glover updates Friday visit to Florida State
- Updated: March 22, 2021
One of the top targets on Florida State’s running back board in the 2022 class got a chance to visit Tallahassee for an unofficial visit on Friday. Three-star prospect Jaylon Glover made the trip with his parents over his spring break and also unofficially visited Georgia Tech on Saturday.
“Just for a little weekend trip for my spring break,” Glover said. “I’m gonna hit a couple of schools. Today I saw Florida State and I’m gonna see Georgia Tech later this weekend.”
Glover has been to FSU before to hang out with defensive back Brendan Gant, one of his friends and someone that also hails from Polk County. However, he’s never really gotten an opportunity to see much of the campus and that was one of the main focuses of his self-guided tour.
“Usually when I come up here it’s to watch Brendan Gant so I normally just see the players lounge and the games,” Glover said. “So I just wanted to see more of the campus and got around to tour that. I clicked up with some of the backs at Florida State.”
The Lake Gibson product enjoyed checking out more of the school and he also got a chance to meet up with a couple of running backs, including Treshaun Ward. Ward talked to him about Florida State and the current state of the running back room.
“It was dope,” Glover said. “I liked how the surroundings were with the campus.”
“The best part about it was talking to the guys,” Glover continued. “Especially just Treshaun Ward telling me ‘what’s up?’ and he told me all about what they [FSU] have. They said they do kind of need help because of how they rotate backs. He was like they want you here and just be ready to work if you do decide to come here.”
Overall, this was a very positive visit for the Seminoles in regards to Glover. In fact, he said it actually went a little better than he expected and his father enjoyed it as well.
“It actually went a little better than I thought,” Glover said. “I enjoyed it.”
“He [Glover’s father] enjoyed it,” Glover continued. “He liked seeing more of the campus. He’s come around to the games but hadn’t gotten a chance to see the campus and campus life. It was pretty cool and neat to see how everything goes on.”
The 5-foot-9, 195-pound running back is still on track to make a commitment before his senior season this summer. It’s possible Glover returns to Florida State next month for the spring game with his teammate and #Tribe22 commit, five-star Sam McCall.
“Shoot, I might,” Glover said. “I might come back up with Sam [McCall] but we’ll see how it goes.”
