Alabama OT Riley Quick Earns FSU Offer

Offensive tackle Riley Quick from Hewitt-Trussville High in Trussville, AL is one of the top offensive tackles in the 2022 class. Quick is the 161st best player in the 247sports composite and is the 6th best player in Alabama in his class. We caught up with Riley to talk about his recruitment and to talk about his newest offer, an offer from Florida State.

Alabama high school football is already underway as offensive tackle Riley Quick is preparing for the second game of his junior season. The 6’6”, 250 pound two-way standout says he’s happy with the start to his recruitment and is excited to get the process rolling now that September 1st has passed.

“We had our first game last week which was a 44-19 win,” said Quick. “We’ve been doing workouts and conditioning up to two weeks ago. Getting the win was a good way to get the season started.”

“Recruiting has been going good,” continued Quick. “I have offers from FSU, Purdue, Arizona State, Toledo, Mississippi State, Nebraska, Kentucky, Georgia Tech, LSU, Tennessee, Missouri, UAB, Texas Tech and Arkansas State. Alabama, South Carolina, West Virginia, Penn State and Ole Miss have reached out and are talking to me now that the 1st has come.”

FSU offered Riley last week. He says he has some familiarity with them with one of the coaches on the FSU staff.

“FSU is definitely a school I’m interested in,” said Quick. “Coach Tucker and Coach Atkins have been the coaches I’ve been talking to. Coach Tucker was actually a coach at my high school so I have known him a long time. That really helps with how they’ve been talking to me. Coach Atkins told me he really likes my film. There is a family feel there and the coaches seems close. FSU is on the rise.”

Riley had a whole visit list planned before COVID hit. While he is wide open in his recruitment there are a lot of schools Quick would like to visit before beginning to dial in on his recruitment.

“There’s a lot of schools I want to visit, schools like Penn State, FSU, Florida, Alabama, Georgia Tech, Tennessee,” said Quick. “A bunch that I was supposed to visit in the spring. South Carolina, Missouri, schools that have offered. It’s a lot.”

Quick is also an intriguing pitcher in baseball.

“I play first base and I pitch,” Quick said about where he plays on the diamond. “Playing baseball helps me a lot with football. I am being recruited for both sports. I hit 93 on the gun recently, and I plan to do both in college.”

Quick’s brother is currently playing for the in-state Crimson Tide, and Riley admittedly says that he grew up a fan of that program.

Stay tuned as we track Riley’s recruitment.
