Braian Angola signs training camp deal with Orlando Magic

Former Florida State guard Braian Angola-Rodas (Yep, the Rodas is back) went undrafted back in June during the 2018 NBA Draft. However, he didn’t let going undrafted define him as a player and quickly inked a deal with the Orlando Magic to join their summer league roster alongside Jonathan Isaac

Angola-Rodas hasn’t been his normal sharp-shooting self so far in Las Vegas, but he’s showed the Magic enough to earn a training camp deal. The Columbia native capitalized on one opportunity and now he’s one step closer to achieving his dream of playing professional basketball.

The 6-foot-6, 195-pound guard has averaged four points, 1.8 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game so far in the Las Vegas summer league. Angola-Rodas has shot just 33.3% from the field, 10% from deep, and 50% from the three-point line but his defensive potential has obviously caught Orlando’s eye.

BAR’s best game to this point with the Magic was on Monday, July 9 against Phoenix. Angola-Rodas (4-8 FG) poured in nine points, two assists, and a block over 22 minutes. With Orlando in quite a flux, the former Seminole has a chance to make the roster or earn a two-way deal if he performs up to par during training camp and the preseason.
