Calvin Brewton grad-transfers to Old Dominion

Former Florida State defensive back Calvin Brewton, who left the team in September, has found a new home prior to his final season of collegiate eligibility. The Miami native will be grad-transferring to Old Dominion for the 2019-20 season.

Brewton played in mainly a reserve role during his time in Tallahassee. He saw action in 18 games over his first three seasons with the ‘Noles, with most of his snaps coming on special teams, and finishes his career at FSU with six total tackles.

In 2018, the 6-foot-0, 189-pound safety played in the first two games against Virginia Tech and Samford. He left the team shortly after the blowout loss to Syracuse in Week Three.

Brewton, who played at the same high school as Dalvin Cook, signed with FSU during the 2015 recruiting cycle. He was ranked as the  No. 311 overall player and the No. 17 S in the 2015 class by the 247Sports composite rankings, earning him a four-star distinction.

Old Dominion doesn’t have a ton of established depth in its defensive backfield, giving Brewton a chance to break into the rotation and start.

NoleGameday wishes the former Seminole the best of luck in the next step of his career.
