Commitment Impact: Jalen Harrell is a ‘Nole!

Recruiting momentum is a real thing, people.

After yesterday’s commitment of Josh Griffis came about I explained that it was just what FSU needed to seize some momentum on the trail.

Low and behold the next day FSU nets a commitment from a stud south Florida cornerback.

Jalen Harrell comes from Miami Central high school (Dalvin Cook ring a bell?) and has the prototypical size for the position at 6’2 and 180 pounds.

Harrell is a bump and run corner with great long speed and tackling ability. His best trait is probably his closing speed and his hip flexibility, allowing him to play off coverage as well.

In layman’s terms, he’s the perfect fit for Harlon Barnett’s scheme which should help him flourish at FSU.

Harrell is slightly underrated but with the main competition for his services being Clemson and Miami I wouldn’t look at his star rating. Though he was recently bumped to a low 4 star I think he’s more of a Top 250 talent on film.

This is a huge commitment as it adds to an already strong DB class that has the likes of Jadarius Green-McKnight, Demorie Tate, and Isaiah Dunson. It also gives FSU another South Florida savage on the roster and you can never have enough of those.
