Florida State isn’t just recruiting for the present, the coaching staff has clearly kept a focus on getting a leg up on future classes early. The Seminoles already have two players committed in the class of 2021 and they’ve just landed their first pledge for the class of 2022 in linebacker Melvin Jordan IV. The 6-foot, 205-pound prospect was on campus in Tallahassee today, announcing his decision shortly after his visit.

Jordan is only a rising sophomore, so there will be a long road ahead in his development and recruitment. His film shows a physical presence and an eye for the game well beyond his years. In-state rivals Miami and Florida have already offered Jordan if you want a general consensus on how he’s viewed this early.

The Clearwater product is another feather in the cap for Raymond Woodie, who is quickly becoming one of the top recruiters in the country. Jordan is the cousin of FSU target and four-star 2020 running back Keyvone Lee. As a freshman, Jordan recorded 74 tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss, and 3 sacks while also rushing for nine touchdowns on offense. It’s clear he has limitless potential moving forward.
