Altmyer has recently been ranked a 4-star by ESPN and rivals, and currently sits at a composite 4-star by 247 sports. A ranking update is supposed to come out later this week on 247, and we can see Almyer’s stock rise even further. He was recently given a committable offer by Nick Saban at Alabama, as his talent is continuously noticed around the country. Norvell identified Altmyer as his quarterback dating back to his time at Memphis. Norvell, in fact, was the first head coach to offer Altmyer a scholarship while he was a freshman in high school.

Both Norvell and Kenny Dillingham recruited him as he continued to grow as a player. They both took this relationship with them to Florida State, and they were able to get him on board early with a commitment coming on February 3rd. He is currently ranked the #14 pro-style QB in the nation and 262nd overall player by the 247 composites.
