Florida State’s Seeding in NCAA Tournament

Florida State will host the Tallahassee, FL regional and they will be in the same pool as 2 seed Southern Mississippi, 3 seed South Alabama, and 4 seed Alabama State. This is the 33rd time the Seminoles are hosting a regional.

The Tallahassee Regional will be paired up with the Gainesville Regional for the Super Regional match-up. If all 1 seeds advance it would set up a rematch of last year with the Seminoles squaring off against the Gators with a bid to the College World Series on the line.

If the fans are having flashbacks, they might be correct to do so as the Seminoles were defeated in two consecutive games in the Super Regionals last season by the Florida Gators. The Gators open the 2016 tournament as the no 1 overall seed. Florida State’s record against the Gators is 0-3 this season.

Friday at noon will be Southern Mississippi against South Alabama and then at 6PM will be Florida State against Alabama State.

Drew Carlton will be the starting pitcher on Friday night against Alabama State.
