Four-star defensive back decommits from FSU

Four-star cornerback Jalen Harrell from Champagnat Catholic High School in Hialeah, Florida decommitted from Florida State this afternoon. The 6-foot-2, 180 lb safety is ranked 18th in the nation among corners and the 235th best player in the nation according to 247sports.

Harrell become the first member of #Tribe20 to back off of his pledge but more could follow. With the way he worded his departure, it doesn’t like the Seminoles have much of a chance to regain his services going forward. Top suitors at this point for Harell include Miami and Georgia Tech.

One good thing is that FSU is at its deepest in the defensive backfield. This could wind up being a net positive if the ‘Noles land an offensive lineman in Harrell’s place. As of now, the coaching staff has 20 commitments in the class of 2020, ranking as the No. 14 class in the country.
