FSU Lands 5-Star Athlete Sam McCall
- Updated: February 28, 2021
The recruiting prowess of Mike Norvell and Florida State has been a hot topic of discussion recently, and today that must kick into high gear as the Seminoles landed their 2nd 5-star commitment in the 2022 class in Sam McCall.
Florida State has been white-hot on the trail lately. Today’s commitment of Lakeland-Lake Gibson defensive back Sam McCall puts the rest of the nation on notice that this staff is here to work and the Seminoles will be a force on the recruiting trail.
Mike Norvell took over the recruitment of McCall, personally being the main FSU coach focused on his recruitment. Norvell flexed his muscle with the commitment of one of the nation’s best players in McCall, who’s rated as the 35th best player overall in the 247 composite rating. As a junior McCall was all over the field for Lake Gibson as he had 52 catches for 903 yards and 10 scores, picking off 4 passes for 1 score, and scoring on both a punt and kick return on special teams.

The 6’, 180 pound athlete chose FSU over Alabama, Florida, Oklahoma and many others. Sam will more than likely play safety for FSU, joining fellow 5-star commitment Travis Hunter as the defensive back tandem committed in 2022.
We’ll have much, much more on this huge breaking news later on.
