FSU lands elite 2017 safety

Lost in all the success of Florida State’s recent signing day close, the ‘Noles lost a top 2016 safety when Jamel Cook flipped from FSU to USC.  And while safety is not the biggest hole on Florida State’s roster, it is definitely a position of need in the 2017 recruiting cycle.  The Florida State staff was able to take the sharp edge off by landing Cyrus Fagan, 247’s #4 safety, almost a year before signing day.

The four-star prospect committed to the ‘Noles after Florida State’s junior day this past weekend.  Fagan (6’2″, 182) is a rangy prospect that will add a play-making dynamic to the Florida State secondary.  He has racked up an impressive list of offers that includes Alabama, Clemson, Florida, and LSU.
