FSU lands No. 5 JUCO running back

One of the most important goals of the late signing period for the staff was signing at least two more running backs to help aid the loss of Cam Akers. Well, they are already halfway there as JUCO running back La’Damian Webb has committed to FSU. Webb is a former Mr. Alabama and put up over 50 touchdowns in his high school career.

His junior college tape shows a great power back with good quickness and lateral explosion. Webb also shows that he can be used as a pass-catcher and already has a college-ready frame to boot. With only two scholarship backs on the roster, it was critical to get more depth and the staff has done so, now expect them to zero in on Corey Wren and Daijun Edwards to complete the running back class which is topped off by Lawrance Toafili.

Though Wren is more of a gadget player and they still want to add Daijun Edwards as well. Since Webb is only getting two years of eligibility I could see FSU trying to fit in all 4 if numbers allow.

Expect Webb to get carries early in his career as a Seminole if all things go to plan. He had 156 carries for 940 yards and 10 rushing touchdowns in 2019 while adding 12 catches for 151 yards and two more scores. The Alabama native is ranked as the No. 61 overall JUCO prospect and the No. 4 RB.
