FSU Offers Memphis OT Aliou Bah

Despite the coronavirus negatively impacting their ability to recruit like normal, Florida State has been active this week offering recruits from both the 2021 and 2022 classes. Their latest offer is Memphis, TN offensive lineman Aliou Bah. We caught up with Bah to talk about the offer and the latest developments to his recruitment.

Getting full-ride offers from colleges is one of the most exciting events in a high school football player’s life. Each one is a new and exciting opportunity. For Whitehaven High standout tackle Aliou Bah, every day is becoming full of these exciting events as offers are coming in at a rapid pace.

“I got excited when I got my first offer, and these past couple days have been like that with the new offers coming in,” said Bah. “LSU, Ole Miss, Mississippi State and now Florida State have offered. Schools like Penn State, Georgia, Notre Dame, and Ohio State are big-time schools that are talking to me about getting me on campus to see how I move.”

While Aliou plays both sides in high school he says he wants to be a tackle in college and that is the position schools are recruiting him for. Coach Norvell and Coach Locklyn are two coaches familiar with Aliou and his abilities from their time at Memphis, and it is a relationship that has had a positive impact on Bah’s recruitment.

“Coach Norvell and Coach Locklyn were recruiting me when they were at Memphis,” Bah said. “Also, Coach Johnson was recruiting me when he was at Tennessee. That impacts my recruitment because they’ve picked up where they left off now that they’re at FSU. Coach Norvell offered me right when I first started, and he’s been recruiting me since. For them to be recruiting me now tells me how much they want me. I already have a relationship with them so it will be easy with them. I am supposed to call and meet with the coaches I haven’t met yet later today.”

Aliou is 110% open to all schools at this time. More than likely he will develop into a heavily recruited offensive tackle for the 2022 class. He is interested in FSU due to their tradition and the fact Coach Norvell is there now.

“I open 110% open to all of my offers, but FSU is a school I am interested in,” said Bah. “It’s a big school. I want to play on a big stage. They have a lot of my interest. I like their atmosphere, their NFL lineage and the coaching staff there. I think they are going to get back to their winning ways, I am confident that Coach Norvell will do that. He’s going to bring back the success, they have potential, and they are recruiting heavily.”

Bah compares himself to NFL lineman Laremy Tunsil. Both are big-bodied lineman that can move really well. Bah stands at 6-foot-6, 325-pounds.

“I compare myself to Laremy Tunsil from the Texans,” said Bah. “I have size and length and I have really good balance. I use my levels well and I am aggressive. For me, I need to get my speed better. If I can get the speed of a tight end, man, I will be able to get to the second level so fast. I also want to have more awareness and be a guy that can coach my team on the field.”

Aliou has also played basketball and tennis, sports that he says has helped his footwork.

We will stay updated with the latest updates to Bah’s recruitment. Stay tuned!
