According to the Arizona Republic, on Friday, Purdy passed out and hit his head on a granite counter before falling through a cabinet. The Arizona native reportedly lost consciousness because he hadn’t eaten for an entire day prior to his wisdom tooth surgery.

Understandably, his parents were quite frightened by the situation.

“He broke the cabinet door and went through,” Purdy’s father, Shawn, said according to the Arizona Republic. “I hear a big crash and my wife (Carrie) is screaming that he went through the cabinet. I pulled him out and put a pillow under him.”

“His eyes were in the back of his head and he was moaning.” Purdy continued according to the Arizona Republic. “We called 9-1-1 and they got there fast.”

Thankfully, it sounds like the talented quarter dodged a more serious injury. Paramedics treated him at his home and determined that he didn’t have a concussion. He also didn’t have to go to the hospital. All in all, Purdy got pretty lucky.

Purdy will arrive at Florida State in the summer following his high school graduation. He is ranked as the No. 200 overall prospect, the No. 6 DUAL QB, and the No. 8 player in the state of Arizona in the 2020 class. Purdy is currently the fifth highest-ranked recruit in #Tribe20.
