FSU’s graphics department is taking things up a notch

In this day and age of college, social media is the name of the game when it comes to recruiting. Whether that’s recruiting graphics, videos, or just having a presence on social media, there’s no doubt that it’s extremely important, even more so with the coronavirus forcing a dead period to be put in place through May 31. That means for essentially the next two months, recruits will be unable to visit college campuses and coaches will be barred from going out onto the road to scout.

Over the past couple of years, Florida State’s graphic departments were a laughing-stock amongst college football. They consistently made embarrassing gaffs that come to mind. For instance, the infamous MLK graphic, the count down until football picture featuring Tamorrion Terry, anyway, you get the point. With head coach Mike Norvell taking over in Tallahassee, improving the Seminoles’ off-field presence has been a priority and it seems to be paying off.

With #FSUTwitter favorite Klayton Campbell already on the staff as a graphic designer, Norvell hired Kyle Pulek away from Nevada to be FSU’s Director of Creative Media earlier this offseason. The graphics department has also brought in a bunch of talented interns to help out. The difference has been night and day so far, as evidenced by a couple of the examples below.

1. 4* LB Dallas Turner

2. 4* DE Keanu Koht

3. 4* QB Luke Altmyer

4. 3* LB Andrew Jones

5. 3* DB Phillip Riley

Simple, clean, and popular with recruits, Florida State’s graphics have been flying around on social media lately and getting a lot of love. It should be exciting to see how they continue to progress moving forward.
