Hear The Spear: Nyqwan Murray interview, NSD recap, basketball

On the latest episode of Hear The Spear presented by NoleGameday, Dustin, Logan, and Fisher recap Florida State’s finish on National Signing Day and the 2019 class overall. They each give their thoughts on the Seminoles missing out on Lance LeGendre and Kamaar Bell but they do provide some positivity on the landing of Darius Washington and Ira Henry. Following that, Dustin and Fisher give updates on the latest news on four-star safety Nick Cross, who didn’t with FSU on NSD.

The trio discusses Willie Taggart‘s comments at the NSD press conference, including his interesting tidbit on four-star cornerback signee Travis Jay potentially seeing time as the backup quarterback. Jay played quarterback during his senior season of high school and led Madison County to a state title. They also identify some other intriguing options for the signal-caller position.

Nyqwan Murray joins the show and becomes the first ever player under Jimbo Fisher and Willie Taggart to speak on Hear The Spear. Murray discusses his thoughts on some of the critiques of the ‘Noles last season and also gets a chance to relive his 92-yard touchdown and subsequent game-winning catch against Michigan in the 2016 Orange Bowl. The future pro talks about his training and how he just wants a shot in the NFL. Finally, he speaks on James Blackman and gave some responses that should fire up the fanbase.

The guys continue into a discussion on whether Tribe19 was a success or failure and follow that up with some news on the 2020 class. They talk about the current commits in the class and how it could project going forward for the Seminoles with the work the staff has already put in. Dustin provides a quick update on basketball and five-star guard Anthony Edwards canceling his visit to  Tallahassee.

Finally, the trio cap off the episode with an easy game of overreaction or accurate.
