James Franklin comments on his future at Penn State
- Updated: December 1, 2019
With Florida State’s regular-season officially over, you can expect the Seminoles to move quickly in finalizing a hire for the school’s next head coach. One name mentioned, who many have deemed a longshot, is Penn State HC James Franklin. Franklin has amassed a 55-23 record in six years in Happy Valley, including a 10-2 season in 2019.
After the Nittany Lions’ win over Rutgers, Franklin was asked a question about the coaching rumors postgame. This was his response.
James Franklin addressed the rumors linked to #FSU coaching job, “Like I told you, I love Penn State, I love our players. I don’t see that changing any time soon.” @WJACTV pic.twitter.com/IlLVyIILYk

Sound like anyone we’re familiar with? Franklin’s response is word for word what I would’ve expected former FSU head coach Jimbo Fisher to say in response to a question like this. It’s certainly not a flat out denial, so that’s something.
What do you think ‘Noles fans, should the athletic administration break the bank to try and bring Franklin to Tallahassee? He’s won one Big Ten championship and one NY6 Bowl at Penn State.
