Jeff Sims wins QB MVP, Elite 11 Bound

The bell-cow of #Tribe20 continues to prove himself during the off-season. Jeff Sims went toe to toe with the best quarterbacks in Florida this past Sunday at the Elite 11 regionals and came out as the MVP of his position group. His day was capped with an invite to the fabled Elite 11 competition-an event that has a pedigree that is second to none and includes former FSU Heisman winner Jameis Winston amongst other top tier signal callers.

Sims encapsulated the moment by saying “It feels great… God is so good!”

It’s every young player’s dream to go to this competition and Sims is no different. But he still had his recruiting cap on and to great effect. After building a great rapport with local WR prospect Michael Redding he contacted the coaching staff- Redding was offered later that night. The versatile receiver prospect hails from the same school as Keyshawn Helton and Darius Washington and Sims is making sure FSU goes three for three. Redding now attends IMG Academy.

Sims will also be back on campus recruiting sooner rather than later, he’s attending the next Junior Day on March 9th and I’d be shocked if he didn’t get some prospects up there with him. Possibilities include his teammates OT Kobe Bryce and CB Jahquez Robinson.

Expect Sims to shoot up the recruiting rankings as he’s still only a mid three-star prospect. I expect him to be in the mid to high four-star range by the end of the cycle.

QB1 is only getting started, ‘Noles fans.
