Jordan Travis deemed eligible by NCAA
- Updated: August 12, 2019
Good news for the Seminoles broke earlier today as FSU officially announced that transfer quarterback Jordan Travis from Louisville is immediately eligible for the 2019 season. This news comes after his first request was denied and he filed an appeal with the help of a lawyer.

Travis being eligible is huge for the depth of the position. The fact that he’s athletic could lead to some different packages. Fellow transfer Wyatt Rector is in the same scenario if he gets cleared. Keep in mind, Travis is now a redshirt freshman in terms of eligibility, which means he’ll be around to compete for the starting job when Blackman leaves.
I love Jordan Travis’ athleticism and accuracy but his arm needs to get stronger and he needs more consistency overall. Once he rounds out those aspects of his game he’ll be a real problem when he’s on the field. FSU now has three eligible quarterbacks for the season and are still waiting for a fourth in Rector.
Willie Taggart said he had a plan when Florida State didn’t sign a quarterback last cycle and he wasn’t lying. His whole off-season has been out correcting mistakes from this past season and he deserves props for making the necessary adjustments. Now it’s time to show it in the field.

Couldn’t agree with your final paragraph more! Would lovet to see Rector get approved now.
