Luke Altmyer Journal Entry 2: COVID-19 and senior season preperation
- Updated: May 28, 2020
NoleGameday is pleased to announce we will be hosting Luke Altmyer throughout his senior year as he gives us an inside look at what it’s like to be a national recruit. He’ll be updating us a few times a month before he heads to Florida State.
Here is Altmyer’s first installment.
Thanks for all of the support on social media the past month or so. It is definitely an honor to be recognized as a 4-star. That is something you dream about as a young kid playing football. But, I am never satisfied with any ranking! I just want to get better every day.
In June I am going to the Elite Underclassmen Showcase. I can’t wait to compete again. I plan to go dominate there and hopefully get an invite to the UnderArmour All-American game.
I haven’t been able to do much. I’ve been catching a lot of bass with some friends and family. Obviously, I am spending tons of time watching old game film. I am even watching old practice film to get better. I am looking forward to the economy and things opening back up. I just want to get back to practicing with my team and competing at a high level.
I often get asked what my favorite play I have made in high school. I’d have to say that it was this past season playing Madison Central. They were ranked the number 1 team in the state. I threw a dagger for 6 that put them away.
We’ve been watching the news about sports coming back without fans. I definitely get a lot of drive and energy from the fans at a ball game, so it would be weird not playing in front of them. Getting the chance to play is what matters most, though.
That’s all I have for now. Next time I hope to be writing about getting invited to the All-American game. Go ‘Noles!
