Mfiondu Kabengele to participate in 2019 NBA Draft Combine

Former Florida State forward Mfiondu Kabengele has reportedly been invited and will participate in the 2019 NBA Draft Combine from Wednesday, May 15 to Sunday, May 19 in Chicago. 66 prospective players will attend the event in the hope of impressing NBA scouts in attendance through a variety drills and five-on-five scrimmages.

Currently, Kabengele is projected to be drafted somewhere in the latter half of the first round after an impressive redshirt sophomore season with the Seminoles. The Canada native averaged a career-high 13.2 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks per game while coming off of FSU’s bench. He shot 50.2% from the field, 36.9% from deep, and 72.4% from the line en route to winning the ACC’s sixth-man of the year award in 2018-19.

The ‘Noles could wind up having two former players participate in the NBA Combine. Terance Mann will attend the NBA G League Elite camp from May 13-14, which is also being held in Chicago. A select number of players from that camp will be invited to participate in the 2019 NBA Draft Combine based on their performance. Mann could end up being one of them, knowing the kind of determination and passion he plays with.

The winningest player in Florida State Basketball history has recently seen his name surface on draft boards towards the end of the draft. He could be valuable in a multitude of roles at the next level.
