Najer Victor commits to FSU

The staffs in Tallahassee can’t stop recruiting. Just yesterday I put out an article about how hot FSU baseball was on the recruiting trail, and today the ‘Noles pick up their biggest commit of the summer. Just a couple weeks ago, Najer Victor was committed to UCF, but now he’s an FSU commit. All summer, the Seminoles have been looking for power RHP’s and athletic OF’s, Victor brings both of those attributes to the 2020 class.

Najer Victor can run his fastball up to 95 MPH while sitting in the low 90’s and adds in 3 off-speed pitches to his arsenal. Victor adds a big CB, SL, and CH to his mix to keep batters off balance. The 17-year old isn’t the most fine-tuned pitcher, as he still struggles with some command, but there aren’t many guys in the nation with higher ceilings off the mound. The Clermont native has a lanky figure, standing 6’2 but weighing just 185 pounds. His velocity comes from his elite arm speed and the ability to whip the ball down the mound. The arm talent for Victor is as good as anyone in the nation.

Victor isn’t just primarily a pitcher as he also plays the OF. Najer is one of the faster guys in the nation, as he runs a 6.54 60-yard dash. With the arm talent he possesses, Victor will likely just be an OF, but FSU just had another extremely athletic guy with extreme arm talent that only threw in his junior year (JC Flowers).

Victor is rated as the 134th overall prospect in the nation and the 38th best RHP by Perfect Game. Najer will be FSU’s 4th highest-rated commit in the 2020 class which is starting to come together after looking very bleak to begin the summer. It’s definitely not a guarantee that this guy gets to campus with the ceiling and arm talent he proposes, but if he does make it to campus, he will be an electric, exciting prospect to watch on the bump. Mike Martin Jr. and staff continue to target the right type of players and stay on an absolute tear on the recruiting scene.
