NFL Draft: 3 best fits for Brian Burns

Three years ago FSU landed a bluechip pass rusher from powerhouse high school American Heritage on National Signing Day who goes by the name of Brian Burns.

It was clear to see early on he was a special pass rusher and he leaves FSU as one of the best players of the current era. Now it’s time for his name to get called in the NFL draft in what will no doubt be a lifelong dream of his.

But which teams are the best fit for Burns? Where can he make the most significant impact right away? Allow me to answer those questions.

Detroit Lions

The Detroit Lions lost their franchise pass rusher in Ziggy Ansah this off-season and need to fill his shoes swiftly, especially in a division with Aaron Rodgers. Brian Burns allows them that opportunity as he can come in right away to help a Detroit team that needs to find a way to the quarterback in the worst way.

Carolina Panthers

The Panthers haven’t had a consistent pass rush in years and would love if Brian Burns fell in their laps. In perhaps the best quarterback division in the league, pass rushing is at an even higher premium. Burns could be the piece they need to flip the NFC South once again and make a run into the postseason.

Green Bay Packers

The Green Bay Packers have been in a defensive rebuild for the past couple of years and have done a great job of drafting defensive backs. Now that they are set in the backend it’s time to focus on the trenches- specifically the pass rush. Brian Burns gives them that in spades and will complement the team nicely.

Other teams in consideration included the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Oakland Raiders, and Atlanta Falcons.
