NoleGameday Staff Score Predictions: FSU @ Boston College

The Florida State football program has been through a lot this week. However, we’ve still got a game to play, as crazy as that sounds. It’s hard to stay focused on football at the moment with a flurry of coaching rumors in the air, but this game has huge implications on the Seminoles’ bowl prospects.

If FSU wins this game, it will be just one win away from bowl eligibility with senior day next week against Alabama State. If it loses, the ‘Noles will need to come out of Gainesville with a victory to go bowling. The game against Florida is likely a loss, meaning beating Boston College is basically essential. Getting back to a bowl game would make everyone feel a little bit better after what’s transpired recently.

Our staff gives their score predictions for week eleven below.

Both of these teams have decent offenses and bad defenses. Typically, you’d expect a lot of yardage and points in a matchup like this. However, I’m gonna be with the opposite because of how weird both FSU football and the ACC have been all year.

Give me a defensive struggle that sees the ‘Noles come out on top. I think Cam Akers has a bounceback week after tough footing against Miami. Find your bowling shoes, ladies and gentlemen.

So many things going against Florida State here. The team in turmoil with the dismissal of Willie Taggart, Marvin Wilson not playing (Hello 200+ yards AJ Dillon), that damn red bandana and weather in the 30’/40’s. That said, Boston College has a really, really, really bad defense. I think the Eagles try to shorten the game on the ground but their defense is a massive issue. I think the 2 point spread is about right but I just can’t pick FSU to win here.

Score prediction: Eagles 34, ‘Noles 31

After an ugly loss to Miami, it seems unlikely that the ‘Noles will make a bowl. If they want to, however, this is a must-win game. Saturday does not look good for the ‘Noles when you factor in Marvin Wilson being out for the year and BC’s potent rushing attack with AJ Dillon. Throw Red Bandana Night into the mix and this seems like a disaster waiting to happen for the Seminoles.

I’m fully onboard the Odell train. All gas, no brakes baby! Players are going to have a choice of thinking “wow we just got our coach fired, we need to fix how we play” or they’ll sit around and pity themselves and come out flat. Personally I think they’ll come out guns blazing

Score prediction: ‘Noles 31, Birds 24
