Redshirt freshman defensive end reportedly suspended

According to multiple reports, Florida State has suspended redshirt freshman defensive end Xavier Peters from the team following a violation of team rules. The timeline for his return to the team isn’t known at this point though Noles247 did report that Peters hasn’t practiced with the team since the return from spring break last Wednesday.

As of now, the former four-star recruit is still on the team. Peters has a chance to play a big role at defensive for the Seminoles in 2019 following a true freshman season where he redshirted, especially with Brian Burns moving onto the NFL. He saw action in two games last year, recording a tackle and a pass deflection, but took advantage of the NCAA’s new redshirt rule that requires a player to see snaps in over four games before burning their redshirt.

The Ohio native was in the Transfer Portal in December but decided to withdraw his name and return to FSU. The exact violation for his suspension is currently unknown but we don’t expect Peters to see time in the spring game following the release of this news.
