Sharp Seven: Week 7

Last week: 0-6 (0%)

Season total: 16-15 (52%)

Whew buddy. Does anyone remember the Matthew McConaughey movie Two For the Money? McConaughey’s character is picking nothing but winners in the early part of the movie only to have a few God awful weeks. Well, let’s hope this was my one bad “McConaughey” week of the season.

I’m back with my head held high ready to get this train back on the tracks this week so let’s jump right into it.

NC State at UNC (-16.5)

Two words here. Bailey Hockman. Hockman is likely to start this week due to the injury of Devin Leary. Couple that with a pissed off Tar Heels team in a rivalry game and I think UNC rolls in this one.

Nebraska at Ohio State (-26.5)

First game of the season for both of these teams makes this pick a little tricky but Justin Fields has been itching to get back on the field and I think he makes the most of it in a Buckeye’s blowout win.

Notre Dame (-10.5) at Pitt

The Irish got a scare last week at home against Louisville but if we’re being honest, that game was nowhere near as close as the final score indicates. Pitt has no offense and in my opinion, no chance of keeping this game within two scores.

Alabama (-21.5) at Tennessee

Roll tide. That is all. I would take Bama up to -27.5 in this one.

Penn State (-6.5) at Indiana

Another week one game for both of these teams. This seems like it could be a trap but I will reluctantly take Penn State here.

Virginia at Miami (-11.5)

This pick speaks more to how little faith I have in Virginia than it does anything about Miami. The ‘Canes should easily cover in this one and if they don’t look for their imminent collapse coming any time soon now.

Florida State (+5.5) at Louisville

Simply put, the wrong team is favored here. Take the points If you want I’d suggest getting better value and taking Florida state on the money line here. ‘Noles’ win this by two scores.
