The Much-Needed Bye Week

The Noles’ off week for the 2018 season could not have come at a more perfect time. The ever-present injury bug has been ruthless to Willie Taggart and company this year. An already banged up blocking corp suffered another setback when star offensive tackle, Landon Dickerson aggravated his nagging ankle injury two weeks ago against Louisville. This time of rest should be beneficial to his recovery process. Coach Taggart made it a point to say specifically after the Miami game that all his guys are sore, but “it should be that way” after such a heated rivalry matchup. This week should also provide a mental break. The way that Miami game was lost, after being up by three scores, was absolutely deflating for this team and fans. Here’s to hoping that the guys can take some time to decompress and be mentally sound going into next week when Wake Forest comes to town.

After the break, the Noles will be entering a hellfire gauntlet of a second half. Sequentially it goes Wake Forest, Clemson, NC State, Notre Dame, Boston College, and Florida. They’re going to need to bring their best for every single one of those squaring offs if they want any shot at a halfway decent bowl game.
