Update on 2020 3* DB Donovan Kaufman

This past weekend FSU hosted its first official visit weekend of January to great success. The Seminoles gained a commitment in RB La’Damian Webb and positioned themselves well for others down the line.

One of those recruits is Louisiana DB Donovan Kaufman. Kaufman was the staff’s first offer and they have been on him heavy ever since. He recently won the Louisiana High School defensive player of the year award.

When asked about FSU Kaufman said he loves the history of the program and that his mother feels the same. His mother also knows the staff from when they were at Memphis (Kaufman took an OV there this past summer), so she’s comfortable with the idea of FSU.

His host was Amari Gainer and he connected a lot with coach Fuller on the visit. When asked about TJ Rushing he said they had a very good connection but it won’t affect FSU in his recruitment with the former defensive backs coach now at Texas A&M.

Kaufman is currently committed to Vanderbilt but with his respect for the tradition of FSU, this will be a tough decision for him.

He also likes Ole Miss and will officially visit there before he makes his final decision on signing day.
